Exhibition for volunteering opportunities

Brief Description :

The exhibition is one of the most important units of voluntary work programs in King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, which combines some of the active volunteer work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with social, cultural and humanitarian relief, environmental, health, educational and professional character, to share experiences and communicate with the community.
The exhibition was accompanied by a number of lectures and workshops in the field of volunteer work.

Goals:

  • 1. Provide the definition of approaching community and voluntary organizations and professionals in the KSA that contribute to enriching the culture of volunteering.
    2. Provide appropriate opportunities for community members to join the membership of these institutions and to participate in community service which enhances the sense of civilized behavior in the individual and deepen the spirit of citizenship.
    3. Open new horizons in the field of voluntary work and concepts of volunteer work.
    4. Expanding the concept that volunteerism and community service is not confined in charity work only, but a person can choose what suits his/her abilities and desires and inclinations best.
    5. Provide an opportunity for voluntary associations and institutions to introduce their activities and programs.
    6. Directing human and physical energies of others invested to serve the community and its members to reduce social and security problems.

Initiative Impact:

1. Provide appropriate opportunities for community members to join the membership of these institutions and to participate in community service which enhances the sense of civilized behavior in the individual and deepen the spirit of citizenship.
2. Open new horizons in the field of voluntary work and concepts of volunteer work.
3. Present the community with more than 50 volunteering foundations.
4. Give the opportunity to volunteer associations and institutions to publicize their activities and programs for 20.000 visitors.
5. Account a large amount of volunteer hours for students from those associations and organizations.
6. Affiliation with a group of university students and the community members to professional scientific societies in their specialty at least for one year to participate in the implementation of events and activities.
