Pearl Initiative

Brief Description :

The Pearl Initiative is an institution working to influence and improve corporate accountability and transparency in the Gulf Region.
Developed in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, and in collaboration with the United Nations office for partnerships, and in program collaboration with the United nations Global Compact.

Beneficiaries Number:

  • Over 1,000 business executives participated in our no-charge, by-invitation events during 2013.

    Our 2 free research-based insight reports on corporate governance, accountability and transparency practices in the GCC were distributed electronically to over 4,000 recipients in 2013.

    We interacted with over 2,000 students in 2013, through our university workshops and our student competition.

Initiative Impact:

In 2013:
• Influencing the thinking and behavior of business leaders.
• Published two major regional insight reports – on GCC corporate case studies in integrity and reporting.
• Signed a strategic partnership with the United Nations Global Compact to implement joint programmes in countries across the Middle East
• Held the first Pearl Initiative and Saudi National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha).
• Ensuring that business education has integrity at the heart of their students.
